HUBZone workshops scheduled

MONTPELIER — The U.S. Small Business Administration recently announced that the federal government has expanded its Historically Underutilized Business Zones program in Vermont.
Addison, Bennington, Orange, Rutland, Windsor and Windham counties are now designated as HUBZone counties, giving small businesses more access to federal contracts through the program.
In these areas, the SBA and the Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center will hold a series of free workshops. These will allow procurement counselors to communicate the necessary information required to qualify for the HUBZone Program, as well as information for the certification process.
The workshop schedule is as follows: 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 12, at the Howard Dean Center in Springfield; 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 13 at the Castleton City Center in Rutland; 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 19 in Room 2-E at the Marlboro College Graduate Center in Brattleboro; 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 20 at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in White River Junction; 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 10 at the Lightning Jar in Bennington; 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 12 in the Lakefront Room at Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee; 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 26 at the Addison County Economic Development Corp. in Middlebury.
