BURLINGTON — Aspenti Health, an innovative, comprehensive clinical drug testing lab, today announced that Jason Turner has accepted a position as Vice President of Compliance, Quality and General Counsel. Turner joins Aspenti from the Vermont Attorney General’s Office where he served as anAssistant Attorney General and Director of the Medicaid Fraud and Residential Abuse Unit. In that role, Turner oversaw the investigation and prosecution of cases involving Medicaid fraud, as well as cases involving abuse and neglect of vulnerable adults.

Prior to his time with the Vermont Attorney General’s Office, Jason spent nine years with the international law firm, Fulbright & Jaworski LLP (now Norton Rose Fulbright), as a healthcare litigator representing large healthcare clients including multi-facility hospital systems, major pharmaceutical manufacturers, and medical device manufacturers. In that role, Jason primarily handled the defense of cases under the False Claims Act, as well as, other allegations of fraud, waste, or abuse in health care programs. Jason is a 2004 graduate of Baylor University School of Law (magna cum laude) and is admitted to practice law in Vermont, Texas, and numerous federal courts throughout the country.
As VP of Compliance, Quality and General Counsel, Jason will work with the Aspenti leadership team to continue to expand the company’s compliance and quality programs. He will also work with the organization’s partners to enhance relationships with payers and state leaders across the organization’s client base. Jason will play a pivotal role as Aspenti continues their collaborative work with other healthcare stakeholders to redefine the role of toxicology laboratories in the opioid epidemic and to develop new compliant programs and protocols that drive the right care for patients at the right price.
